Kent State University offers Kent State students and those from other universities the opportunity to study in historic Florence - sunny Italy’s center of cuisine, culture, art and fashion. Learn the language in this Florence summer. The summer 2008 program will include day trips to Viareggio, Pisa, Lucca and Cinque Terre and overnight trips to Venice and Rome. The program is in KSU’s Palazzo dei Cerchi, a medieval building located in the city center, completely renovated in 2004. Cerchi’s exterior appears much as it did in the time of Dante and the Medici, while its interior houses state-of-the art classrooms. This Intensive Italian-Language Program is: ► Offered during the Summer II Session , approximately mid-June to early August ► Enables students to complete 14 semester hours of Italian language: ▪ Elementary Italian I, II and ▪ Intermediate Italian I, II ► Provides a total-immersion experience while living with an Italian family.
