Danna Sundet, Assistant Professor of Oboe at Kent State University is the newly elected Director of the John Mack Oboe Camp. Mrs. Sundet teaches graduate and undergraduate Applied Oboe at Kent State University. Her teaching duties include oboe studio class, woodwind class, pedagogy and Mrs. Sundet performs frequently with the faculty woodwind quintet.
Mrs. Sundet plays Principal Oboe with the Erie Philharmonic and Cleveland’s Trinity Chamber Orchestra. She performs with the Cleveland Opera Orchestra and RED {an orchestra}. Mrs. Sundet specializes in performing Bach festivals where she is featured on English horn,
oboe d’amore, and the oboe, including the Baldwin-Wallace Bach Festival and the prestigious Carmel Bach Festival. Sundet holds a degree in music performance from The Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with John Mack.
Mrs. Sundet’s enthusiastic and motivational style of teaching and her clear and logical approach to musical instruction heralds her as one of the most prolific and influential teachers of young oboe students in Ohio. Her students are dynamic soloists, chamber musicians and section players. |
